Be it an intimate service for a select few or a lavish celebration for all your friends and family, we can help make your wedding dreams a reality. Set in the heart of The Kelling Estate, The Pheasant is ideal for a country house wedding, and our elegant interiors and landscaped gardens can provide the perfect backdrop for your big day.

    We understand that its all the little details that make your big day. Whether it be a small intimate ceremony and reception or a large wedding with evening entertainment, we know from experience, it is all about the planning.

    Your requirements will be individual to you, so a visit to The Pheasant for us to meet is always ideal, but we have noted below further information for your consideration.

     

    If you would like a smaller wedding for up to 50 guests without live/loud music, we can offer you our Kelling Room for your ceremony followed by our Orangery for your Wedding Breakfast.

    (Kelling Room hire £250 Orangery hire £500)

    For larger weddings, we can offer Exclusive Use of The Pheasant, to include all function rooms & 32 bedrooms on a bed & breakfast basis.

    This proves to be very popular as it creates a country house, house party feel.

    The way it works… Your guests phone the hotel directly to book their accommodation, at which time we take full payment and are able to manage any specific requirements the guests may have.

    Any unsold rooms will be charged to your final account.

    One day Exclusive Use £3200

    (Two-day Exclusive Use required from July to September)

    Every Wedding Breakfast menu is designed by our Head Chef to suit your requirements.  

    Suggested Wedding Breakfast menus are as below:

    • A three-course menu, with each course offering a choice of three dishes. For this we would require a pre order one month prior to your wedding date.
    • Alternatively, a set menu with a vegetarian option.

    Our Wedding Breakfast menus start from £35 per head, dependent on your choice. Children’s menu £11 per person

    As the day approaches, we will ask you to join us for a Wedding Breakfast tasting. Should you wish to pair wines to your Wedding Breakfast menu this is the ideal time.

    What is included in our Exclusive Use package?

    Is the Pheasant licensed for Wedding Ceremonies?
    Our Kelling Room & Orangery are both licensed for ceremonies. Registrars will need to be booked by yourselves.

    Do I have to hold my ceremony at the Pheasant?
    No, however there will be no reduction in cost.

    Can I have music during my Ceremony?
    Yes, we have independent Sonos speakers built into each function room for pre recorded music, this can be discussed further at wedding planning meetings.
    You are also welcome to book musicians to provide live music during the ceremony.

    Is confetti allowed?
    No, this is due to being in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

    Do I have to set up my own decorations?
    No, this will be carried out by our events team. Decorations must be delivered 48hrs prior to your wedding day with the boxes clearly labelled.

    Can we use our own suppliers?
    Yes, if of interest we do have a recommended supplier list. For third party suppliers we will require a copy of their public liability insurance & PAT certificates for any electrical equipment as well as contact details.

    Can we have outdoor games or bouncy castles?
    You are very welcome to provide outdoor games for the lawn area, however we are not able to accommodate bouncy castles.

    Can our menu be tailor made?
    Yes. We will work with you to provide the perfect menu for your wedding day.

    Can you cater for dietary requirements?
    Yes, our chefs are able to adapt menus to suit dietary needs.
    Dietary requirements must be clearly noted on the pre order & received by our events team one month prior.

    Can we use our own caterers?
    No, we do ask that all catering is carried out by our inhouse team of chefs, with your wedding cake being an exception to this.

    Can I bring my own alcohol?
    Yes, however corkage will be charged at £15 per bottle for wine, prosecco or champagne & £25 for magnums.
    All other alcohol must be purchased through the Pheasant.

    Are Fireworks or Chinese lanterns allowed?
    Unfortunately not due to disturbance to our neighbours & livestock

    What time must the evening entertainment finish?
    For Exclusive Use, entertainment must finish at 1am.
    For smaller weddings we do not allow bands, DJs etc, but you may book an acoustic singer which we ask is finished by 10.30pm & noise levels will be carefully monitored.

    What time does the bar close?
    For hotel residents our bar is open 24 hrs. Non resident guests will not be served after 1am.

    Are there any License restrictions?
    To avoid disruption to our neighbours outside entertainment is only permitted until 11pm. From 11pm all guests must be inside the hotel with windows & doors closed. The garden is permitted for guests wishing to smoke but the noise level is carefully monitored.

    Who is responsible for clearing down?
    Our Team at the Pheasant will pack away all your items in the boxes whilst you sleep!
    The boxes will be ready for you the following morning, we do ask that these items are removed promptly before check out.

    What time is Check in/Check out of the bedrooms?
    Check in is from 3pm & check out is by 10.30am the following day.

    Do you have parking?
    We have a large carpark & a second overflow car park.
    Cars left overnight are at the owner’s risk, for collection the following morning.
    If of interest, we do have a list of local taxi companies, but please remember to book one in good time.

    Is VAT included in your prices?
    Vat is included in all our prices.
